This weekend was NUTS!
We had so much going on - I can't stand it.
Sabbath we did the Sabbath School/Church thing. I had to run the PA and Doreen told the children's story. (She did great. The kids and rest of the congregation loved it!)
After church my in-laws met us and we had a picnic lunch - inside. It was too cold to eat outside. Then we ran down to Collegedale to check out the house. The Sheet-rock finisher FINALLY finished up. Then we sauntered over to a park called the Imagination Station. It's got a really cool thing for the kids to climb, slide, balance, crawl and play ALL over the place. It was quite enjoyable. The girls got all the wiggles out they stored up in church and the ride down.
Sidebar: While we were there, I was walking around with Joelle and heard a girl about 15, maybe 16 talking on the phone trying to arrainge a 'group' to go check out the movie 'Hitch.' Pretty normal eh? Well, as she was talking to her 'friend' she said, "tell your mom we're going to the movie, etc, but just don't mention that 'boys' were going to come." Aye Carumba - I saw scenes of my potential future, that I'm going to work to avoid, pass in front of my eyes. All the time she was on the phone she was hanging around a couple of guys. Then she made another call, talked for a minute, hung up and called and her friend - who had just got to the park - the both screamed, hung up and ran to give hugs. Then the 'Mom's' showed up and did introductions - all talked for a few minutes. (The guys dissappeared during all this.) Then the girls ran off to the back-side of the huge jungle-gym with the 'boys.' The moms then stood around and talked. The boys and girls talked and flirted, and were generally acting very immature and pretty much weird. All on the far side of the jungle-gym out of sight of the moms.
Oh man - this was the only reason I didn't want two girls. I guess I gotta do the work and get connected with my girls so they'll talk to me and not pull stunts like this.
Anyway, about suppertime we hit a restaurant called Raphaels. It's an all in one type of restaurant. You can pretty much order anything there - and they do a great job of it. I had a Italian Cheese steak sandwich, the girls had pizza, Larry had a Veggie Hoagie & Sandra had Manicotti. Yummy!
We finished eating and headed to the house because we had to get the sheet rock mud, pieces and dust cleaned up so that the tile guy and trim and doors can happen this week. We worked until almost midnight. Doreen, Sandra and the girls headed to the mall to play for a while - then to Wal-mart to pick up a couple'a things then back to help us. After they got back - the girls sat in the van and watched a movie.
Got back home at 12:30a then had to help a friend/co-worker move to Collegedale, in the pouring rain. Ate lunch at Raphaels. (Ate at Raphaels 4 times in a row, Thur w/ co-workers, Friday with the girls, then Sat nite & Sun - good place!) Then we unloaded him then met up with the girls and ran a bunch of errands - finished up at Taco Bell and headed home.
Today we had to go back to wrap up another 3 or 4 errands - and the rain was pouring once again. Rain, rain and more rain. Wow - rain and a construction site = LOTS of mud! Ick!
Tomorrow - things are supposed to slow down a bit - hopefully!
"See ya 'round' like a donut!"
