I love traveling, visiting and seeing new places, but it is ALWAYS nice to be home.
This weekend, Doreen and I attended a VBS conference at Cohutta Springs Camp. It's in Georgia about 10 miles from the GA/TN State line. It's the camp for the Georgia/Cumberland Conference, which is the conference we're in.
We had a great time. The food was great, the 3 messages by Pastor Jerry Arnold of the Collegedale Community Church were awesome. A number of the meetings were very helpful - including the one on Decorating, and the setting was pristine. It was an even better weekend, because we had some friends taking care of our girls for the weekend - so we didn't have to try and sit through these meetings and keep two little wiggly-bugs still and quiet. What a blessing!
In fact, it was quite an experience not having to get kids in and out of car seats, or carry a diaper bag (By the way, we're almost finished with a full-blown diaper bag, Natalie is just about completely potty trained. PTL!!!), it was just Doreen and I doing our thing. That was nice!
We were originally going to go with the Jerusalem Holy Land Marketplace theme, but because of my having to commute and other really busy things going on in our lives, we decided to go with the easier Serengeti Trek. I think the kids would have enjoyed either, but this will be easier for us to lead - so we took the 'lazy man's' way out ! :)
Oh well!
Had to take our car in to get it fixed. (Jerry, I feel your pain man!) Driving to work in Collegedale, it was shakin' me up all over the place. So I had the tires rotated and balanced, and while it was a little better - it still had a solid shake in it. So I took it back in, and it turns out the tires are cupping incredibly weird. SO, since it's got nearly 100,000 miles, I had the serpentine belt changed, getting two new tires and having it aligned - all for only... ...more than I can afford, but have to have done! :)
On the financial front, we just got some good news on Friday. The money we loaned to Uncle Sam for the past 12 months, interest free (in the form of extra taxes), we'll be getting back March 11. PTL on that. It's enough to pay off ALL Joelle's medical bills from her broken arms. Man - that is a HUGE blessing to have that all paid off -finally!
Well - everyone is starting to wake up from their Sunday afternoon naps. (We've got the kids of the friends who took care of our kids this weekend! Trade off. They're going to have a nice evening out, then we'll keep the kids overnight, because we were going to baby-sit them anyway because both of them have to work tomorrow. Interesting on how things work out!)
Anyway - y'all have a Maaaavelous Week! (A little 'ode to my favorite Oscar Show Host. It'll be interesting to see how tonight's come off. Hummmm!) :)

Yeah - I'm not smart enough to work on my vehicle myself. So I just gotta pay others to do it! :)
Yeah - Our insurance covers 80/20 up to a certain point - so we gotta cover a percentage. Then we don't have to pay anymore for the rest of the year - so, we gotta pay that amount - and then we go from there.
Just extremely thankful we were blessed with the funds to cover it and the funds to fix our car!!!
You know - it always - ALWAYS - typically comes down to the money! :)
