Doreen and I just had some family visiting from Florida. (It's Doreen's cousin.)
Anyway, in the course of one of one of the final conversations they had - I wasn't in on it, I was in the bunk of a semi-truck headed to New Orleans, LA, - they got to talking about an organization we were all in at one point. (Yes, network marketing, prospecting, the circles, pyramid scheme - Amway.)
They talked about the good, how it brought John & Janelle together, how John came to Christ through it, how Doreen and I learned some positive ways to live our lives. They also talked about the not so good of it.
As Doreen and I talked on the phone later, she recounted this conversation and that got us to thinking about how we moved through that phase of our life.
It was a super-conservative phase, while living in S Illinois, that pulled us out of Amway.
Then that lead to eating the 'translation diet' phase trying to get ready for Heaven and some extremely 'unique' Bible studies. Of course, not all 100% accurate - we now believe.
Then a phase of helping out a small church and doing a 'Revelation Seminar.' That pulled us out of the other phase and back to a more moderate lifestyle.
It wasn't long after that, we entered the United Van Lines trucking phase. What an aweome 3 1/2 years of our lives. Lots of growing and maturing and visiting and sightseeing and lots and LOTS of work!
Then the Tennessee phase, LT Radio and LT Television and then two beautiful daughters/parenting phase. Then the career change phase, back to a truck-driver and school phase for Doreen.
What phase is next? Who knows!!!
We'll enjoy it when it comes! That's the only way to handle life phases! :)
