Every Mon and Wed our school has it's "Hot Lunch" program. We paid for it last year, cuz it is SO nice to not have to make a lunch on those days and they really seem to enjoy the meals.
About the last 1/3 of last year, they dropped Wed's because the person doing it, could no longer volunteer to cover the meal. Our friends Mom was going to do Wed's this year and asked if we would be willing to help. Well, I'm home on Wednesday's, PLUS the meals you volunteer for, the kids get to eat free - I'm so there! So we've been helping out on Wednesdays, until the lady who did Monday's got a full time job, and we've put a little crew together to cover both days!
It's worked out so far, and it's actually lots of fun to do. The meals are pretty simple and we're getting it closer to 'down' pat on how much we need for each meal.
