Natalie's 2nd Birthday

We had a good day, all things considered.

Joelle and Natalie both have been battling a running nose the last couple of days. Last night Both Doreen and I came down with kind of a sore throat. Doreen worse than I - with a runny nose etc.

So today the girls were playing a lot and I was kinda the referee with Doreen chillin.

We had a couple of friends visit with some presents for Natalie and then we made a birthday pumpkin pie. The girls had a blast helping.

We had lunch and put the girls down for a nap - and Joelle wasn't going to sleep - so I went and lay down next to her to "help" her quit talking and wiggiling and she immediately crashed.

So I slept for 25 mintues myself, then got up and headed to Wal-mart for some stuff we needed.

I got home and put stuff away and flipped the TV on for my Sunday sports, then we had supper, opened more gifts and just watched the BRONCOS LOSE (Don't get me started again *GRIN*) and played.

Now they've crashed and we're watching our FAVORITE show of all time. Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. AWESOME SHOW.

After it's over - TV off - make lunch for work - then Beddy-bye time!

Nighty night!

why, Why, WHy, WHY????

Today they acutally had the Bronco Game on Fox here so I could watch it in Tennessee.

When I turned on the TV the Broncos were up 14 to 3. Yeah baby. They looked sharp and were doing everything they were supposed to be doing.

I flipped over to watch the end of the race - go Jimmy Johnson, pull the race out for Hendrick motors that deserved it after losing 10 team members and family in an airplane accident last week. Very touching.

So after the race - I flip back - and they're LOSING!!! What the heck??!! So I continued to watch and they looked lethargic - again. Making dumb mistakes - again.

Why when I get to watch a Bronco game - do they lose?

That TICKS me OFF!!!

Come one guys - you were kickin butt at the beginning of the season and now - NOTHIN!

CRUD!

Informal/unscientific Poll

Ok,

The election is next Tuesday. Doreen and I are registered (independent) to vote. Got our info ballot and location of where we're to go to vote.

Thing is - I don't really feel like it. I mean, I will cuz, well just cuz.

But who know's what's gonna happen. Heard a news report today where Flordia is already having problems with their registration and absentee ballots. Both Bush and Kerry have hired legal 'guns' in Florida and many other closely contested states to "Make sure the election is fair."

I mean is this what we've come to? Every election the friggin lawyers in this country are gonna be paid big bucks because of the way things happened 4 years ago? What kind of free country is that? Will our vote count or will the judicial branch of our gov't have to make the final judgement every 4 years?

If I hear ANYTHING about hanging or pregnant chads this year I'm GONNA SCREAM! If people aren't smart enough to vote properly - THEY SHOULDN'T BE VOTING!

I TRULY hope this year the winner is VERY clear so we don't have the lawyers all screamin' bloody murder about ballot tampering, etc so they can make money and hold us all hostage to a judicial system that is swimming in red tape and very biased - depending on the 'court' to find out who our next leader is going to be.

Ok - I'm done bellyaching about this.

Let's do an informal poll. You can leave an anomyous comment if you wish.

Who are you going to vote for to be our next President: (Listed in Alphabetical Order)

A. Michael Badnarik & Richard Camagna (Independent/Libertarian)
B. George W. Bush & Dick Cheney (Republican)
C. John Kerry & John Edwards (Democrats)
D. Ralph Nader & Peter Miguel Camejo (Independent/Green Party)
E. Michael Peroutka & Cuck Baldwin (Independent/???)

Have fun!!! :)

Here's a Creepy Fact for Your Halloween

-Hundreds of years ago when there wasn't enough room in the graveyards, old graves would be dug up and reused, Sometimes they found scratch marks iside the coffins left by people who were burried alive and had tried to claw their way out. The reason for this is that before they knew lead was poisonous, beer and whiskey had been drunk out of lead cups. The combination of alcohol and lead sometimes made people unconscious for days. They were often mistaked for dead and quickly buried. The fear of being buried alive led to the idea of tying a string to the deceased's wrist. The other end was pulled out of the coffin, through the ground, and attached to a bell. Someone then sat out all night-the graveyard shift- to listen for the bell. This is where the term "saved by the bell" comes from.

The Curse is Broken!

After 86 years, the Boston Red Sox finally win a World Series.

Wow!

Now, I'll have to admit, I was pulling for the St Louis Cardinals. But they were thoroughly outplayed by the Red Sox. Pitching, hitting, base running, everything.

Congratulations to a very good team to a group of players that deserve a championship!

Of course with ALL the players scheduled to become free agents this off season, it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out next year!

Red Sox with the 4 game sweep in the world series.

Wednesday, October 27, 2004

Sssssshhhhhhhhh!

Can you believe it? The "Big" bats for the St Louis Cardinals have all but been silenced. The Boston Red Sox pitchers have really helped put this series where it is right now. They've put a major shuuuushing on the Cardinals bats.

I figured that since both Championship series went to 7 games, I figured the World Series would be a bit closer - but so far this has been a sweep.

It wouldn't bother me if the Sox win because they haven't won one in so long - but my preference is that the Cardinals take the Pennant.

Oh well - maybe next year St Louis. At least after game 3 last night it looks like it's a lost cause!

At least it isn't the Yankees winning another World Series! :)

Spelling's OUT in Our Family

Yesterday afternoon I was thoroughly enjoying some time to relax after a busy weekend and a hectic day at work catching up after a much-needed vacation.

I was sitting in my recliner reading Clive Cussler's book called Serpent. It's an excellent read.

Joelle and Natalie were playing nicely and occassionally coming over to me and we'd talk for a moment about whatever they wanted then go back to what they were doing. Eventually they required my full attention which I was more than willing to give them.

We were playing and they seemed to have LOTS of energy so I said to Doreen, "After supper we should go to the P-A-R-K." (Specifically spelling the word park out in case she didn't like the idea, or had other plans, so the girls wouldn't know excactly what I said and be disappointed if we didn't end up going.)

Doreen agreed and immediately Joelle said, "I wanna go."

So I responded, "Go where sweetie?"

She answered, "The park."

You should have seen my jaw drop to the floor. My 3 1/2 year old had the knowledge to know what I spelled.

Unbelieveable - I figured I had at least another year of spelling things before she started catching on.

How WRONG I was.

And how unbelieveably smart my daughter is.

(Yes, I know - she inherited her Mother's brains - because even at age 34, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer!!! LOL)

Sports Thoughts

Well, this morning I feel like dis-owning the Broncos as my team. Of course this is just a morning after, dissappointing feeling because of the unexpected loss last night.

They just really blew it. They didn't come out with the same intensity of the Bengals and were just outplayed! Oh well. Next week is another game. It should be interesting to see what happens. They play the Falcons - I believe - and Atlanta was just BLEW out, so they're gonna lookin' to recover as well.

Hopefully the Broncos come out on top.

Onto another sport - Game 3 of the World Series is on tonight. The Red Sox play at the Cardinals 'nest' tonight. Will the Card's come to play or get their butts handed to them again? We'll see.

Ok, same sport, different topic...

Between the ALCS and the World Series, Curt Shilling, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox did an interview with ESPN's Peter Gammons about pitching and baseball and how he was able to play through the pain in his ankle etc. One thing he mentioned that 7 years ago he became a 'Christian' and didn't feel rigth asking the Lord to win, but just that He'd (God) give him (Curt) the strength to play and to do his best.

The next day I saw an interview TV and a few days later heard another interview on radio and both times Curt had to be 'bleeped' because he was droppin' "F" bombs and a few other choice words of the extremely vulgar variety (cursing). It kinda took
me off-guard because of the 'claim' of Christianity. Now I really like Curt because he's who he is - he doesn't just give these 'pat' answers to interviewers, he's intense, he's tough, he's one of the best at what he does and he's got quite the hilarious sense of humor. I also like him because he is a Christian and isn't afraid to let others know he is Christian. (I've read a few blogs where he was being thoroughly flamed because of that recent admission.) He's a stand up guy, yet he freely drops the 'F' bomb etc. I'm not questioning his sincerity as a Christian, but should swearing be a part of one's vocabulary for one who claims to be a follower of Christ? Would Christ drop the 'f' bomb and others if He were here today?

I highly doubt it - but would love to hear your thoughts on this topic that probably doesn't concern one's salvation, but yet one that comes up from time to time!

A New Hobby for the Pesters???

Our family may have a new hobby very soon.

The week before Thanksgiving we have some family (Doreen's Sister's Clan) coming to Tennessee for a visit. We're going to spend 3 days in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge playing around among many other things.

Recently they've gotten into a hobby called "Geo-Caching."

Basically it's people from all over the world who 'Cache' an item or container of items then leave a Longitude and Latitude on a website with a description of the location and 'hints' on how to get there. Then we go find it.

The website is, Geocaching.

Last night Doreen and I were looking at some of the 'Caches' that have been stashed around where we live and in Montrose, CO (Where my family lives in CO and where we just finished a 2 week vacation) and saw lots of 'Cool' places to visit etc.

Of course I have to admit that one reason why this interests me is because we'll need to get a GPS unit. That is WAAAYYY Cool. I'm a techie (Not to be confused with Trekkie - although I do enjoy Star Trek) and I love electronic gadgets - so this is right up my alley.

Occassionally we sit around home and wonder where to go and/or what to do - this is a great opportunity to get outdoors, see some beautiful countryside, teach Joelle & Natalie about maps, tracking, and getting from point A to B. It's also got a unique twist on it as well.

We'll let you know if we decide to do it and how it goes!

Hope you find your day ahead is GREAT!

Oh Crud!!!

A loss to the Cincinnati Bengals is NOT good.

Bad - BAD Penalties, a lot of them didn't help either.

Couple of BAD interceptions to Tory James & Deltha O'Neal didn't help much. A R Droughns fumble.

The Broncos deserved to get their butts waxed and all the hair ripped off!

Joelle & Natalie could have done just as good as they did.

Don't know what happened - but it's past midnight - 7 minutes to play and they're down 23 to 10. I'm going to bed!

This is probably the only game I'll get to see this season and they lose.

That is BAD!

Nighty, Night!

Ok - Pick it up

It's half-time and the Broncos aren't playing up to their potential.

Come-on guys!

Pick it up!

Better win this one! :)

Oh Yeah

The Denver Broncos & Monday Night Football.

It's ALL good!

It'll still be good if they lose - but it would be AWESOME if they did win!

This is my first FULL regular season Bronco game I'm gonna get to watch. I got the 1st half of a game on vacation in Colorado - but we had to leave to get to the concert on time.

Hope to post in about 3 hours of the Broncos dominating the Bengals, but we'll see.

Enjoy the game!

AL & NL Championship & World Series

Woah,

Wasn't the AL & NL Championship series awesome?

Ok - I was wrong, the Red Sox weren't whipped. They came back from 3 games down and beat thosd D--- Yankees 4 straight games to win the series. That was awesome.

Then the Astros and Cardinals went back and forth with the Cardinals finally coming out on top.

Now games 1 & 2 of the WS has happened and while the Red Sox have made a jillion errors, they've bested the Cardinals. Now the series moves to St Louis. Will the Cardinals be able to come back? Who knows.

They're my 'favorite' in this Series - but, I wouldn't mind seeing Boston win. They've been without a Championship long enough and deserve one.

Isn't it just fun watching?!! Exciting if you ask me!

Game 3 Tuesday night.

It's Officially Over

Hey,

Our vacation is NOW OVER! Booo hoooo hooooo!

We sure enjoyed our 10 days in Colorado with family and just relaxing. We REALLY needed it.

It was fun getting home though - not sure we were gonna make it though! :)

We checked into the airport at 6am on Thursday and the lady at the counter asked us if we wanted 3 free tickets. (That's how many we bought to fly out) What's the catch was my response. Turns out that they were overbooked all day and the plane was going to be too heavy because of all of the 'meat' hunters were taking back with them. So we decided - yeah - why not. Besides, never look a gift horse in the mouth! :)

She booked us on the next flight and we talked arrivals and departure times to make sure we'd get all the way to Knoxville. Then loaded up in the car and headed back to my folks place with mom.

We headed back to the airport with what we thought was plenty of time before departure and found out the plane left 10 minutes before we checked in. I dropped the ball and screwed up the flight time in my head.

The lady was VERY kind about it and worked it out for us to fly back home on Friday. She said it was easier for them because on Thursday they were overbooked and overweight all day and so having extra seats available on the flight we missed helped ease the 'standby' list and weight. Cool!

We went back home - the girls watched a movie, I napped, read a book and helped mom when she needed it making applesauce and enjoyed another day with family!

We got home Friday - late! But we were home! :)

Now we're back and getting caught up on all the junk you usually do after 2 weeks away from home.

Sunday - we had to move some lumber from Tellico Planes (20 minutes from home) to our building site for my In-Laws apartment in Collegedale. We moved an entire home's frame worth of lumber in a day - piece by piece. Boy, am I super sore today!!!

Picked up our mail this morning, an entire shopping bag of mail, junk and catalogues.

Getting caught up at work today. Voice mail, e-mail, a desk piled with junk while I was away. (It was clean when I left! LOL)

Plus all the normal work I have to do daily.

I LOVE vacations, but hate coming back and getting caught up.

It was worth it though. :)

Colorado Relaxin

Things couldn't be better right now.

We are having a great time visiting in Colorado. I had forgotten how beautiful the Rocky Mountains are. They are AWEsome! I enjoy the Smoky Mtn's are OK, but the Rockies are, well, God's Country. Right now they've got a bit of snow on the peaks so it enhances them just that much more!

Right now the kids are watching Dumbo with Doreen. Mom's mending a shirt and Scott is reading a Dale Brown book.

This week while we've been here I read one of my favorite author's books - Clive Cussler's "Fire Ice." Great read!

Yesterday was great - playing golf in the morning at a par 3 course with my dad and 2 brothers-in-law. We all pretty much suck, but still had fun. I couldn't get a handle on the distance. I kept wackin' the ball WAAAYYYYYY over the greens. I was typically using the Pitching or Sand Wedge and laying off - but getting a solid hit on the ball and off she'd go. Still had fun though! :)

We went to a corn-filed maze and the kids enjoyed part of it and what-not.

Then last night we went with Staci and Scott to a concert of Matthew West, Mark Schutz and Avalon. What a GREAT concert! Doreen and I tried to remember the last concert we've been too - it's been a while! :) We thoroughly enjoyed it though. And a BIG thanks to mom for watching the kids while we listened so some great music.

Today we're just chilling. We'll probably carve some pumpkins and then after Staci get's off work we'll go bowling.

I'll have to post more later cuz I gotta run to the restroom!

Yeah - I know, more info than you wanted to know!

Later!

Whipped

I tell ya - I really don't like the New York Yankees. I was hoping that this would finally be the year that the Boston RedSox beat them and get to the Big Game.

Nope, last night Pedro got beat and now they're down to the Yanks 2-0 in the series. Yuck - the Yankess will be back in the World Series - again. Gag me with a hairy baseball bat!!! :)

On a brighter note - the St Louis Cardinals rocked the Houston Astros last night. I happened to flip the game on at the bottom of the 6th inning. The game was tied at 4 a piece and St Louis scored 6 runs. Yeah Baby! They of course went on to win that game.

Most excellent!

Well - whatever team makes it to the Series from the NL, Houston or St Louis - I hope they CRUSH the Yankees!

"Some People Think it's funny but it's really hot..."

Yesterday was a good day visiting here with family in Colorado.

Most all of us squeezed in naps and generally took it easy.

After lunch and a nap, my tummy started rumblin. This was NOT a good sign! :)

It rumbled and rumbled and rumbled. I finally went in to sit on the 'throne' and what came out was a LOT "runnier" than usual.

Oh man! I HATE that.

So the rest of the afternoon I'd rumble and run. :)

Turns out that Mom and Doreen had the same rumbly problem without the runs. That was a blessing. An even larger blessing though was that the girls didn't get rumbly or runny!

We analized everything we ate yesterday and it looks like that the only thing that Mom, Doreen and I ate that no one else did was some 'healthy' jellybeans, gum drops and a M&M type food. We tossed the rest of those! :)

Anyway, I'm feeling much MUCH better this morning!

Today we're headed to Grand Junction. Gonna see my sister Cindy's house and visit with the twins an let all the kids play at a "play-plex" and all sorts of stuff. Should be fun!

I'll let ya know!

Aaaahhhhh Vacation!

We made it!

3 Airplanes, 4 airports and we made it will very little trouble. The only hiccup was I thought one arrival time was a departure time and so we were in the middle of eating when they started boarding our plane - however - the plane was delayed so we finished scarfing our meal down and got on the plane on time.

It's nice to be here visiting and chilling. After we got here, we had to run to Wal-mart and get some stuff to change diapers and what-not. But then we came home and just chatted sitting around the table. It was good catching up - in person. My sister Staci and brother-in-law Scott came down and we all talked for a good long while.

They finally had to leave to put the kids down and so my folks and Doreen and I watched a movie and crashed.

This morning, I rode along with my dad up to Grand Junction on his truck to help him drop a load of empty wine bottles at a winery in Palisades. That was a lot of fun. Dad was running the forklift getting the palets out of the truck and I was inside with a palete jack running 'em from the front back. We did pretty good and emptied the entire 53 foot trailer in just under and hour and a half.

We got back and found out that Mom and Doreen took my girls and Bekah (niece) to McD's to the indoor playland. We ate lunch and put the kiddos down and I fell asleep in the recliner.
We're all chilling right now, soon we'll have to take another trip into town.

Try and keep ya up-to-date on our relaxing as it happens! ;)

"We'll Be There, We'll Be There..."

"... in the next 24 hours, we'll be there!"

Can't wait - looking forward to spending the next two weeks relaxing, playing and enjoying family!

A quick weekend recap;

Saturday we played hookie from church. They had a social/service/event where everyone was invited on a hike. It was up 3 1/2 miles a mountain side. Natalie isn't up to that yet and we didn't wanna carry her. :) So we didn't go to that, we didn't want to go to church cuz it'd be like ghost-town around there. So we played hookie, slept in - as late as the girls would let us. We went to a beautiful waterfall, then decided to go for a nice walk around a lake.

It's 3 miles around the lake - and unfortunatly we ended up carrying the girls well over half way. OUCH My back still feelin' it. It was still very beautiful and we did enjoy most of it! :)

Saturday night we went to the church bonfire and enjoyed some yummy roasted weinies and friends and the awesome scent of burning wood in the open. That was AWESOME! Of course, Doreen and the girls enjoyed Cedar Lake veggie dogs and I scarfed down the best Hebrew Nationals this side of the Rockies.

Sunday we did lots of cleaning up around here. I did the garage and shed (with Lots of Doreen's help), the inside and outside of both cars and Doreen did a thorough inside cleaning getting ready for our trip out west.

Today Doreen did a TON more here at home while I had a bunch of loose ends at work to tie up today. Got all but one done and that one was insignificant.

We've been cleaning and packing and getting ready. The girls have been 'hyped' all day long. They can't wait and neither can we! :)

All the responsibilites of work and church and more is slowly easing off our shoulders. Not completely there yet, but getting there and hopefully by the time we step on that airplane - we'll be doing good!

Oh yeah!

Cast Off OR Over-worked

It is now officially off. Joelle is cast free. This morning before getting in the car to go to the doctor’s office, Joelle said she didn’t want to go right now because she was scared. Doreen re-assured her and they stopped by work and picked me up and up do the Dr’s office we ride.

We get there 15 minutes early, sign in and sit down for :35 seconds and get our name called. That has NEVER happened in a Dr’s office before. Doreen was walking over to the bathroom and promptly turned around and walked right back to go into the exam room with all of us.

A couple of minutes later the tech walks in with the cast cutting machine and gets ready to do the job. Joelle lays down and was a bit nervous, but as soon as the tech started cutting, Joelle started talking to her telling her all the stuff we have planned. Going to a bonfire Saturday night with her friends and leaving on Tuesday to fly on an airplane to go to Colorado to visit Grammy and Papa. It was CUTE! She didn’t even whimper this time.

After the cast came off - we cleaned her arm up and the she and I were whisked off to the X-ray room. It’s just NOW the official time of our appointment. The x-ray tech has Joelle put her two arms in two different positions - and Joelle pretty much instinctively put them there as quick as the tech put the film down.

The Dr looks at the x-rays and pronounced her officially healed! We walk out of the Dr’s office 10 minutes after our official appointment was scheduled. I repeat - that NEVER happens! Boy, they were on the ball today and did a GREAT job.

So the girls dropped me off back at work and I begin furiously editing spots. I arrived at work at 5a originally, auditioned 1 hour of programs and edited a spot and a half together before the girls got there to pick me up to leave for the Dr’s appointment at 8a. We get back by 10, the girls come in to show off Joelle’s no-cast arms and then take off. I stand around for another hour talking about LifeTalk’s move and some options we need to consider, then begin working on another spot.

I co-host a live call in show - today was a Bible Quiz. We typically average between 5 and 10 calls during the hour, today 26 calls on air.

After the show, I’m a bit worn out cuz live radio call in shows take work - I walk out to the car and snooze for 15 minutes.

When I get back in - refreshed after a power-nap I spend the next 3 ½ hours editing and mixing down about 50 spots and then have to quit. That’s a BOAT-LOAD of spots/editing/mixing. Much, MUCH more than I typically have to edit in a day. Wheew - wears me out just thinking about it. I’m trying to wrap up this special project before leaving on vacation on Tuesday. I’ve got 16 more to do on Monday and I’m all ready to go!

Yeeeeeeee haaaawwwwww.

We are SURE looking forward to this trip. That’s basically all Joelle’s been talking about today. Natalie’s still to young and completely oblivious to what lies ahead - but we are really anticipating a very relaxing, fun time visiting in Colorado.

Have a Happy Sabbath and a Wonderful Weekend!

It's Friday Right? No??? DOH!!!!

This week has been the LONGEST I've had in quite a while.

I know the reason! It's twofold. #1 Because my daughter is supposed to get her 2nd cast off on Friday. #2 Because we're going on vacation to visit family in Colorado next Tuesday. We're so looking forward to those events that it has just made this week DRAG by. Slowly, agonizingly slow!

Aaarrrggghhhhhh!

Well, at least it's Thursday!

:)

A Friend's Wild Story

We had some friends over for supper this evening. While we were eating they told us a story of an experience their 22 year old son had.

He was on the phone with a friend in Kentucky who he had met through another friend. While they were talking, she interrupted and said, "Shoot." He then heard tires squealing, her screaming and a big bang, then silence. He said, "Hey, you ok? You there?" After a long pause she said, "No, I'm not ok - I just got in a wreck. Gotta go " and hung up.

Freaking out he tried to call back - nothing. So later in the day he sent a text message - no response. He sent an e-mail that evening (that's how they usually communicate) and nothing.

A couple of days later she wrote an e-mail saying she was ok.

Yesterday he talked with her on the phone. She started the conversation by saying, "I killed my car, but I'm fine." Turns out, she missed seeing a car when she pulled out and got T-boned on the driver's side of her car. She was pinned in the vehicle and had to be cut out by "the jaws of life." She was pretty brused up, had a nasty case of whiplash and shot nerves, but otherwise fine.

That just blew me away. Imagine being on the other end of a phone call with the person you're talking to getting into a pretty big wreck. WOW!

That is freaky!!!

Drive safe ya'll - especially when I'm on the phone with ya! :)

2 Snakes OR The Flu Bug has Bitten

I don't know what the deal is, but Joelle is an expert at seein' snakes.

The other afternoon when she walked out of our house she spied a snake about the size of a pencil. I picked it up and it tried to bite me - it was so small it could barely get it's mouth open enough to get my finger. It was a pretty aggressive little bugger, and I wasn't sure if it was poisionous or not - so after Joelle held the tail and Natalie touched it a few times - that snake lost it's life.

We were down in Chattanooga at our property a day or two later and Joelle and Doreen spotted a garden snake that was about 2 feet long. I picked it up and the girls both handled it and what-not. Then we put it back down - far from where we were checking our building site out.

Maybe I've got a "Snake Hunter" on my hands - one that'll have a Southern accent instead of Australian! :)

Natalie caught a little flu bug. On Monday I got home and Doreen was outside with the weedwacker, Joelle was playing inside and Natalie was taking a nap. So I went in, changed, and started playing with Joelle. After a while I heard Natalie start to cry - so I got her up from her nap and her face was beet red and she was HOT. I took her temp and it was about 101.6. So I got her a drink and a cool rag for her forehead and neck to make her fell better. She just wanted to be held - so I did that. Doreen came in and we talked about it - I called the Pediatrician - who told us to pump her up with drugs and ride this little flu out, and to make an appointment for the next day. So I had to run to Wal-mart to get some kids Motrin and Tylenol. We used all we had up after Joelle came come from the hospital. The pain med they had her on was making her freaky - so we switched to kids Motrin and she did MUCH better. Before we gave Natalie a dose, we checked her temp again and she was up to 102.2. So we drugged her up - gave her a nice long, warm bath and put her to bed for the night. She slept like a rock - didn't hear from her AT ALL!

Yesterday, she was feeling MUCH better, but not 100% yet. Man these kids bounce back from stuff quickly! :)

Joelle, Doreen and I got our hair cut on Friday, getting ready for our trip. We discussed with the lady doing our hair about Natalie's - but decided not to cut it. My boss came in to get his hair done after we left and found out we'd talked about cutting Natalies hair. (BTW, he's one of the Good Guys in this world and I LOVE working with and for him!) He joked around with me on Sabbath that he'd told Valerie that he'll pay her double what we'd be willing to pay her to NOT cut Natalie's curls. That was hilarious! :)

She does have VERY cute curls and we're not planning to chop them for a while! :)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday y'all!!!!

3 Hour Nap OR Saturday Sillyness

Hey,

Hope you are having a good weekend??!!!

Ours is good. Friday afternoon we got everything done early and so we were just lazing around the house, so we took Joelle's big pink ball, a Nerf football and T-ball set outside and just ran around kicking and hitting and throwing stuff all over the place. It was, well - a ball! :) (I know that pun was a groaner - but look it up, that's the definition of a pun!!! LOL)

Sabbath morning - was ok. At church I was basically the superintendent for Sabbath School. It was bad, because I put off until Friday planning things, but good because the Pastor had an hour DVD he wanted to show. It all worked out nicely all in all.

Church was a challenge for the girls to sit still. That really wears us out! We're trying though. We hosted the meal (not a potluck week) for the visitors and those members who wanted to come and brought some food. We had a good time eating and talking - then homeward bound.

We get the girls and stuff in the house, put everyone down for naps by 2:15p and nothing wakes us up (Joelle gotta go potty) until after 5:30. Yeah baby. A 3 hour nap - oh boy I ain't gonna get to sleep tonight! :(

So we grab a quick meal of popcorn and this bread/peanut-butter/syrup concoction Doreen makes and eat while watching VeggieTales - Sumo of the Opera, then we go outside with the same gear and have a ball. The girls weren't having as much fun though. Oddly enough they seem tired a bit.

I make a suggestion to Doreen that we get a DVD for tonight, so it's close enough to sundown, pack all our stuff up, jump in the car and go get "13 going on 30." Very good movie. A lot like Tom Hank's "Big," but with a MUCH better ending! :)

We let Joelle stay up with us and watch it. Hope we don't pay for that tomorrow.

We've gotta go down to Chattanooga and see what's happening on the Land. More work has been done on the foundation and plumbing I think - so we gotta snap a few photos and make sure it has been done right - then we'll probably hit a park - maybe a meal and get home in time for football and NASCAR! :)

Good Sat nite all!!!

PS - Just for fun, here's some Saturday Night Sillyness Think of three photos you'd like to see posted to this blog. (Things around our house or whatever. Make sure it's rated "G" stuff! LOL) When I have enough requests, I'll post them!
