Doreen's Dental Hygiene Pinning

Doreen was wondering what to do when the kids got into school to help pay for the cost of their tuition. She thought about going back into her degree of Medical Technology, but decided she didn't want to do that again and deal with hospitals, weekend shifts, on call, holiday shifts and not working with patients. She decided to go back to school to become a Dental Hygientist. This past week was her pinning, the culumination of 2 years of pre-requisits and a two year DH program. We are SO proud of her for all she did while in the program.

She and her other 15 classmates worked so hard studying, learning the techniques and then plus being a wife, and mom on top of all that! This group is special, they worked hard and worked together so everyone could get through the program. In fact, Doreen just called me a few minutes ago to let me know she found out from her instructors that all 16 of them passed their written boards. That is exceptional!

Here's Doreen with Jana, Whitney, Cindy & Mellissa.

Here's a pic of Doreen, Whitney & Natalie. Everytime Doreen would tell a story with Whitney in it or about Whitney and would say her name - and there were a LOT of stories - Natalie would say, "Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney!" It was too precious!

Here's her family to help her celebrate the special occasion! (We had our good friends Kristine, Jen & Debbie there too. Thanks for coming y'all!)

Had to include a shot of these cookies that Doreen's cousin, Janelle, so lovingly made and sent to us for the celebration. We've scarfed them down! Got clean teeth in the process too!!!

Now Doreen takes her clinical boards the last weekend of May and we wait for the results of that test before she can start looking for a job. She cleared one big hurdle and has one final one to go before she is officially a registered Dental Hygientist! Congrats Dear!
