An 8 Year Old???

I cannot believe that my firstborn just turned 8!


Amazing how time flies. On Joelle's actual birthday, I was still in Colorado with my dad in the hospital. So Doreen had a special little thing at supper for Joelle and we postponed the 'celebration' until I returned. I got home and Wednesday, we celebrated by playing a couple her favorite games, Blurt and Pit!





Then we had the supper she requested, pigs-in-a-blanket, bar-b-q potato chips and a veggie plate. Bruce and Jen some good friends along with my in-laws, Larry and Sandra, joined us for the evening!










After supper we got to dig into her requsted Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake (with the word Narnia) on it along with some Turtle Tracks and Mint Chocolate Chip ice-cream.










She got some really neat gifts from a lego set, to a rocket kit and some precious shoes. What was the kicker though she had 3 presents to open. The first was some cables, the 2nd was a DVD/CD player and the final present to tie them all together was an Acer Mini Laptop! Ohhh she was exctied.

Now it was fun watching Natalie, cuz when we got her a desk she started asking for a laptop. Joelle already had Poppy and Grammy's old desktop computer. Well, when Joelle opened her gift, Natalie got real quiet and a serious look on her face. She was really trying to be happy for her sister, but you could just tell she really wanted one!

Then she got to open her gift. (This was the last year that she got a gift at Joelle's b-day.) It was an Acer Laptop as well - her face couldn't grin any wider! :)

All in all, it was a very, VERY good birthday!!!
