A Day in Ouray

We went to tour a mine on Friday in Ouray, CO. Out of this mine they brough Gold, Silver, Lead, Tin and Manganese.

Here we are all suited up to stay dry. This mine has a ton of water flowing thru and dripping from the ceiling.

All loaded up on the miner train ready to go underground. Gotta ride it horsey style.

We rode back about 1100 feet underground. It was a steady cool 52 degrees there. Nice! :) Fun experience!

Once we got out of the mine, everyone had to stop for a 'potty' break. Luckily - this outhouse was 'out of order!' He, he, he, he! :)

We drove on into Ouray and had a nice picnic lunch. Cheese and veggie corned beef sandwiches, goldfish crackers, juice and animal crackers for dessert. Yummy!

The kids had a great place to play for a while, we went and found a nearby geocache then on to one last item for the day...

...the Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Awesome! The weather was comfy with a steady breeze, so the nice warm water was perfect!

The only problem we had was we typically visit the Ouray Hot Springs pool in the evening. So none of us thought about sunscreen. Oh boy - yup - we all burned a little! OWIE!!!

All in all though - another GREAT vacation day!
