Get the Quarterback!!!
Mom gave this to me yesterday and I cracked up when I read it and thought you football fans might enjoy it! :)
"A guy took his girlfriend to her first footballgame. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience.
Oh, I really liked it, she replied, especially the tight pants and all the big muscles. I just couldn't understand though, why they were killing each other over 25 cents.
Dumbfounded, her date asked, What do you mean?
Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of teh game, all they kept screaming was; Get the quarter-back! Get the quarter-back. I'm like... hellooooooo??!!! It's only 25 cents!!!
He, he, he!!!
Have a Maaaavelous Monday!

An Awsome Rocky Mtn Weekend
Man, this weekend was the best!!!
It's good to be on vacation, it's even better to be with family, it's fabulous to be away from the stress at work!!!
So today, was just, tremendous. It was very, VERY full and busy though and I've come away with a sunburn on my face and neck, but most definetly worth it!
The morning started off with an early round of golf at my favorite par 3 course here in Montrose. The really neat thing was my 7 year old nephew, Brian, hit closest to the hole off the 7th tee. That was cool.
After golf, we had brunch and then headed out to do some GeoCaching. We had a couple of false starts in finding the one we were looking for, but persisted because we wanted the kids to really, really like it. So eventually Brian and I found it and guided everyone else in. We traded a bunch of trinkets and then headed home for lunch.
After lunch we played on a slip in slide in the front yard, what a blast, but dang, they've got COLD water here! :) At home, it runs for a few minutes and it's lukewarm, here - it's like ice. Awesome!
When the kids were wore out we laid them down for naps, then Doreen, my sister, her hubby and my dad headed to Flat Top to ride their dirt bikes. Awesome. We hit all sorts of little jumps and bumps and dips, then we took a quickie ride around the Mountain. It had some pretty severe hills we went down and up. Makes your stomach jump into your throat and do some flip-flops! It was fun, FUN, FUN! (Boy am I gonna 'pay' for all that fun, tomorrow in many new aching muscles - definetly worth it though.)
Got done, headed home, put the bikes away, had a neat family supper, played some dominoes, ran an errand and now we're going to watch the extras on Scott's new Top Gun, collectors edition, DVD.
Man - what a day. Tomorrow we're gonna have to take it easy!! :)

Rocky Mtn High
Hey hey hey,
We're here and 'a lovin it. Got in at 9:30p Mtn, which is 11:30p eastern, the girls were tired. But they both woke up from the last leg and were excited to see Grammy & Poppy! Yeee haw! Not to mention I didn't want to have to carry both of them and all our stuff off the plane! :)
Enjoyed the flight in - however it was kind of disappointing because on the puddle-jumper we fly from Den to Montrose we usually get warmly welcomed by the majestic rockies, but it was night and dark and no way to see 'em. Boo hoo hooo - so we're gonna have to take a trip and see 'em this morning! :)
On the last flight in we saw what looked like rain as we crossed the Rockies, but it wasn't - it was SNOW!!! :)
Oh yeah - "Hey it's good to be back home again, yes it is!"

A blog from 20,000 ft
A blog from 20,000 ft between Knoxville and Chicago. The girls are loving it all. Next stop Denver after a quick bite & long walk 2 the next gate.
Ready, Ready to Fly!
Hey ya!
We've got the car loaded, the house cleaned up, the refrigerator empty of everything perishable, the trash out - now we're just waiting...
...waiting for the time to come to leave.
I tell ya - I'd MUCH rather be waiting, than going NUTS trying to squeeze it all into a time frame it doesn't usually fit! :)
Doreen just finished her shower and the girls are taking a nice long bath. After they're done we'll hang out a little more, try and get more wiggles outta some girls, then head to Knoxville and the first leg of three flights today. Knoxville to Chicago, Chicago to Denver, Denver to Montrose!
Up, up and away we go! :)

Tough Day at Work
Today, was a tough day at work.
For starters, I had to get things set up and run 3 strands of 100' of cable down a hole, through a wall through two other holes and about 5 pieces of ceiling tile to a new camera location on the radio set. Not a quick and easy job, plus I got all itchy from the insulation! OUCH!
Secondly, we had to get the TV studio all cleaned up from all the construction we've had going on. The mess just compounded - and I wanted it spotless before I left today - so cleaning we did!
Third, I had a tough meeting with management as plans were suddenly changed and from 140+ student workers hours per week, I've been dropped to 80. That really hurts.
Finally, the really bad part is I had to 'let go' one of my guys today. I hated that. He was a good dude, and the fact that managment idea changes have affected not only me, but others 'under' me as well just bugs! Not to mention they spring it on me about 2 1/2 hours before I leave on vacation. Dude, that is mondo rough!!!
Anyway, I am GLAD to be on vacation and don't have to put a foot in that place for at least 2 weeks. Wheeeewwwww!

Packing & Funny Movie Moments
Tonight, we pack up. We've got a bunch of other things done in making preperation to get ready to go. Now the time has come! I can't wait for tomorrow. We get to sleep in, load up and head to Knoxville to fly west. Yeeeaaaaa haaaawwwwww!!!
So as I've been doing stuff lately I've watched 3 movies. "Mannequin," "Hitch" & "Bruce Almighty." Those are very good flics!!!
A funny series of movies. Here's just a 'highlight' of each of what cracked me up the most! :)
"Mannequin" - "Hi, I'm Hollywood Montrose, OW doesn't it just sing?" That one get's me every time.
"Hitch" - The scene when Hitch watches Albert's dance moves. Waaaa ha, ha, ha!
"Bruce Almighty" - The scene when Bruce, after he gets his powers, messes up Evan's newscast. Everytime I see it, I laugh and laugh and laugh! He, he, he!
Love to hear the moment in a movie, in any movie, you think is funniest.
Have a good day!!!

"That's a Wrap" --- Thank goodness
I am GLAD this week is officially OVER.
Joelle, Natalie and I have been sick since last Sabbath and it's like taking eons to get over this crud. Runny noses, coughs, congestion - the whole works!!!
So with that and a bit of 'pressure' over some must-get-done-now stuff at work, I am relieved this week has come to a close.
I have also be doggedly 'studying' for a test, of sorts, that I had to take Thur afternoon. Passed with flying colors aparently - although for the hour and a half I was in the test taking process I was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, to quote a crazy cliche'! :) I've not done this type of stuff, save for one time, in the past 5 1/2 years. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, comes from this. Y'all in blogland, website readers, will be among the first to know!
I did take a day and a half off trying to rest and recouperate - for what good it did while I was back. But I did get a couple of books read. Clive Cussler's "Blue Gold" and Louis L'amour's "Tucker." Great books!
Well - Doreen and the girls are headed to church tomorrow. I'm gonna rest up some more and try and kick this thing early this week.
Thursday - we fly west to the great state of Colorado to hang out with family. Should be a very, VERY good time! I'm really looking forward to it!
Have a GREAT weekend y'all!

Chattanooga 'Kids' Museum
Last week we went with some friends (Doreen, Tracy, Joelle, Natalie Climbin', Anna & Cheryl) to a 'free night at the Chattanooga 'Kids Discovery Museum.' It was a very cool place and not only for kids. I tell ya we adults had a ball too. They had tons of cool things to see and do. Read on and see more!

"Dip" Our Gov't at work...
...NOT!!!
Yesterday we headed up to Madisonville, our old city of residence, to mow my in-laws and neighbors (our former home) yard. The neighbor mows it while my in-laws are out of town, but the neighbor is out of town for a couple of weeks and it needs to be mowed - so we went up there to mow, stay at their place and attend our old church. (A 25 min drive from Mad'Ville an hour drive from Chattanooga.)
So just before the last 'bend' in the road before we turn off to the street they live on, we see this sign that says 'dip.' Sure enough we encounter a pretty BIG dip in the road. Before we moved, we had been kinda waiting for them to fix that dip and the rest of the road that is pretty quickly going to pot-holes.
Instead of doing what needs to be done and spending the money to fix the road - they put a sign that says "Dip." Well - what a bunch of DIPS!! Yuck, that just really irritates me! Actually the guy who we bought the property from to put our former house on was the County Road Commissioner and I talked to him about it before we purchased and he said he'd see that it was taken care of. What a 'dippy' politician. Yuck, yuck, YUCK! I really, REALLY don't like politicians - local, state or federal. They're all pretty much the same with a few exceptions that are very, VERY rare!!!
So, Joelle, Natalie and I have all gotten sick this weekend with runny noses and sore throats. Hope it passes quickly - I hate blowing my nose again, and again and again and again and again! AAaarrrggghhhhh!!!
Tomorrow is just gonna be a super lazy day to rest and recover!

"A Canyon Inferno"
Just talked to dad on the phone a few minutes ago about a few topics. One really caught my attention and since we've got quite a few truckers in the family, thought you all would enjoy this one.
A canyon inferno,
Truck with explosives tears out a 30-foot crater on U.S. 6
Here are some highlights,
A truck with a team on it and 35,500 pounds of explosives goes around a corner too fast on a road near Spanish Fork, Utah, lays over on its side, catches fire, 3 minutes later explodes creating a 30 foot deep by 70 foot wide crater! WWWWWOOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHH!!! Approximately 9 are injured - none seriously.
The real bug-a-boo about this is the Utah State Patrol admitted that this is a bad corner. At least one truck a month gets into a wreck there.
"And they haven't changed it 'WHY'???" Amazing.
Anyway - if you have some time check out the article - very interesting story! :)

Aaaahhhhhh... NFL!
The NFL is BACK. Yeah Baby!
Watched my first game last night as the Bears eventually beat the Dolphins. Granted - it's just a pre-season game, but it was a NFL game on TV nonetheless!
It was also cool seeing Steve Young and Dan Marino and their induction to the NFL Hall of Fame. Awesome! They were showing some of the highlights of their careers - man, fantastic players. These are truly good guys!
So - Doreen calls me yesterday at work and says that Joelle's eyes are looking pretty bad - again. So this time we take her to the Dr and sure enough, bacterial pink eye. ICK! Looks bad, itches and I'm sure Natalie will eventually get it. Don't know where Joelle picked it up from - but it's happened and thank goodness for the meds to get rid of it!
Well - better get back to work!
Have a terrific Tuesday y'all!

Another - interesting - but good weekend!
Hey - According to our last post - we were still in Dollywood. Well, we left Thursday afternoon and came home! :) Would have liked to stay there though. Lots of cool things to do!
Friday - it was back to work. Boooo hooo hoo! :)
Sabbath we got up to go to another church here in the Chattanooga area with some old friends who have 3 kids around our girls ages. But when I got Joelle out of bed, her eyes were all matted and red and had lots of discharge. So we got nervous - called a Dr to see if she had pink-eye and got ready to head to the do the pediatrician. But after she got out of the shower, it all completely cleared up and she looked 100% fine - so we decided to skip the Dr visit and all the extra charges.
We were extremely late for church so we just headed out for a family day walking around about 3 different parks in the Chattanooga area and did some exploring. It was good. Then lunch and naps for all.
We got up - and my in-laws who are in town came down - and we all just hung out together for a while. Then the girls had an invitation to a slumber party. So we dropped them off and headed out for an adult evening. It'd been a while since we'd had one of those! :) We went to the Olive Garden - waited 45 min, with no stressing over what our kids were getting into so or them getting antsy. Finally got seated and ordered - then the salad and breadsticks arrived, which we devoured and waited and waited and waited for our meal to arrive - again, with no stress of keeping kids amuzed while waiting. On the way home, we stopped and got some ice-cream and then watched "In Good Company" - pretty good movie - ate ice-cream, and relaxed. The in-laws took off at that point, Doreen played Boggle on the computer and I read a book until 1am. Then we crashed.
We slept in a little - got up made breakfast - didn't have to tell the girls to eat, or quit playing or eat - which was a nice break - then headed over to our friends to pick the girls up.
Turns out they had a fun time too watching movies and eating pizza, that they made, and then crashed late at night.
It was a good time for us all.
At home we all just lounged around a bit - the girls were kinda tired - so we put 'em down for a nap and continued lounging ourselves.
Of course - Doreen was in kind of a funny mood. She was singing "Peter picked a peck of pickles" in a "B" rated opera singers voice. Aaarrrggghhhh. He, he, he - it was actually hilarious and scary at the same time! :)
They got up and ate. Since it was raining - we headed to the mall to play at the play place. I think everyone else had the same idea. The mall was a jam-packed mad-house. But the girls had a blast playing. Doreen just chilled - I got a cable to connect our GPS to the computer and then got back and finished up my book. Then home to play a little more - hook stuff up to our computer and then beddy bie for the girls.
I watched the Indy race - I'd recorded while we were gone, Doreen played Boggle, more and then we crashed at a very decent hour!
Aaaaahh - what a good weekend!
Hope yours was just as fufilling!
Have a good week!

Oh yeah! It's about Time!
Also on yahoo sports, I saw this awesome bit of news. Steve Atwater Joins "Ring of Fame"
He was a defensive back for the Denver Broncos for years and had a buzillion ferocious hits on any receiver or running back who came over the middle. He'll probably not make the ring of fame - but it's awesome they're inducting him into the ring of fame!
Oh Yeah!!!

Oh Yeah!!!
Over $59,000 Per Day - WOW
Logged onto my yahoo this morning to grab e-mail and check up on the news and saw O'Neal signs $100 million, 5-year deal with Miami. Wow - that is a boatload of money. He makes more a day than I make in a year and half. Ouch!!!
Oh well - with that kinda cash, I'd probably become some sort of alcolholic, druggie, womanizer and die at a very young age, alone, unhappy and detached from the world.
So - I guess its' good I make what I make!

Uggghhh!!! I'm ILL!
Man 'oh man!
Have I eaten TOO many blueberries lately!
As soon as I got home from work, started to feel the urge to hurl. (Course, probably some of it is from a heightened amount of stress at work today! Argh!) Never did - but the urge is still there.
Oh yeah, and the other end. Well, let's just say that we all know what eating too many blueberries does the the coloration of "it" and the "almost but not quite" consistancy.
Ok - loggin' off to go lay down and be still, very, VERY still.
Ou.....
oh, man!
...t!

Iggy is ILL
Hey ya.
My pick-up truck is sick. Had to take it to the pick-up-truck hospital this morning.
On Friday the girls and Doreen loaded up the last of the broken bricks in the yard. When I got home we unloaded them then parked the truck for the weekend.
I go to get in Monday morning to drive to work and the drivers side window is busted in. Completely shattered - glass EVERYWHERE. So I walk back in the house and tell Doreen I'm taking the car.
Last night I clean up the mess and this morning we drop it off at the auto glass place to get it replaced. (And to patch the leaky holes in the rubber around the windshield. In Colorado where my folks had it - they don't get much rain - here however, we get a TON of rain and so every time I drive it in the rain the windshield leaks like a sieve!)
After we pick it up tonight or in the morning, we're going to take it right to the brake place and get those fixed. I parked at a golf course last Thur afternoon (My first golfing trip since our last vacation in Montrose with Dad and Scott.) When I parked on the hill and talked with my friend a moment or two while getting all the gear together - the truck started to creep forward. Aye, yai, yai! So I put a block under the tire and have ever since that time.
After I get it back - I'm gonna build a speaker box to stash behind the seat so I can actually listen to my radio w/out all the extra buzzing. Currently the 'magnets' in the speakers are holding them to the back wall of the truck!
Iggy is a work in progress and someday I hope to have it in classic - tip, top shape - but for now - I just need it functional!

This was one of the geocaches we found on Sabbath afternoon with our friends. One reason we love geocaching is beause too many times we'd say, "Lets go somewhere." The other would then say, "Where." Then the great debate on where to go would ensue. With Geocaching we see ALL sorts of COOL locations - actually get out and see them up close and personal and really enjoy all the neat stuff around us. We learn lots of things as well. For instance the 'cache' that Tammi (Green shirt, 2nd from the left back row) is holding is actually a 2 liter bottle before it is 'expanded' to it's actual size and filled with soda. They transport them small to save on space and money. Isn't that cool??!! It's awesome to learn stuff like that.
What an AWESOME weekend!
The only bad about it - it ended! :)
Our weekend was fabulous!
Sabbath we went to 1st church, then Sabbath School, then we were free for the day. We ran home changed and picked up food then headed to a park to picnic with some friends. After the picnic we spent the rest of the afternoong geocaching on Southern's campus. We found 5 hides. What a blast!
After we finished that we all went to our house, had a lite supper and sat around and talked in the cool of the a/c and relaxed. Everyone split a bit later and we put our girls to bed early - cuz they were plum tuckered out! I spent some time on the web, Doreen read, then we watched a movie together - Jerry McGuire - then crashed.
We all slept in a bit Sunday morning. I made waffles for breakfast. Yummy! We organized the girls toys - got a bunch of them sorted to to give to my mom for the next trip to Mexico, then did a bit of cleaning around the house. Joelle and I went out to the 'garage/storage unit' my in-laws are having built and climbed on the wood a bit, then she rode her bike and I was on the scooter and we went round and round and round. What fun!
Ate a quickie lunch and then all took naps. Oh yeah!
Got up, changed and headed back out with some friends to hit one more geocache for the weekend then to Grandma M's house to get together with other friends and went blueberry picking! It rained on us - but that was ok because it cooled things down tremendously and was quite comfy then. The girls just ran around the blueberry patch occasionally picking, mostly eating just having tons of fun.
Got home super late, whipped the girls through a bath, got everything in the house, cleaned the 10 quarts of blueberries we picked a relaxed for a bit then crashed to end the weekend!
And what a good weekend it was! Truly!
