We carpool with some friends in taking our kids to school. Their son, Nathan, loves to talk football with me. So as I was bringing everyone home from school last Wednesday, he asked me what my 5 favorite teams are.
Well, everyone one knows my number one team - easy. The two of the others came to me pretty quickly and the other two, I had to think about for a bit before I finally came up with the answer.
So I thought I'd post my top 5 NFL teams in honor of the 2009 NFL season kicking off tonight!
Drum roll please;
Here are my 5 Favorite NFL teams...
Number 1 - The Denver Broncos. They are from my home state. I have been a Bronco fan as long as I can remember. I've been to one Bronco home game game as an adult, they beat the Packers, and I think my folks took me to another as a kid! I also went to another Bronco game on the road, but you'll read about that in a moment! They have had 5 very disappointing superbowl losses in my time and two wonderful superbowl wins! I bleed Denver Bronco orange and blue!!!
Number 2 - The Cincinnati Bengals. We lived in Ohio for 2 years, and I loved a Bengals shirt I received one Christmas. They went to a superbowl one of the years we lived there and they got plowed over by the 49ers that season. Never been to a Bengals game, but visited the stadium once on a trip to Cincinnati for LifeTalk to an ASI convention.
Number 3 - Detroit Lions. This is a hard team to root for cuz they have been so bad for so very long. We lived in Michigan for 4 years and one Thanksgiving my dad took me to a Lions game. They beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27 to 3. What a FUN experience and memory. They also had one of the most awesome running backs of all times, Barry Sanders. He was phenomenal!
Number 4 - This is a regional pick because of where I currently reside. Atlanta is only two hours away. Atlanta has been bad for a while, but the new owner Arthur Blank has turned it into a class organization and it is getting better! Last year '08, I took Joelle with some friends and in-laws to see the Broncos play the Falcons in the Georgia Dome. Another FUN NFL experience! The Broncos ended up beating the Falcons 24 to 20. I have become a Falcon fan ever since!
Number 5 - Last but not least, the Tennessee Titans qualify as my 5th favorite NFL team. Mainly it's because I have lived in the state of TN for almost 10 years now. That and it's another quality run organization and the current coach, Jeff Fisher, is a quality guy. Hoping to get to a Titans game sometime here in the near future.
I'd be interested to hear your top 5 and why!
So there you have it, my 5 Favorite NFL Teams!!!
