9 Things I Hate About Everyone!

Got this in an e-mail from my sister and got a kick out of it - so now I share it with you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I.

I HATE it...

1. When people who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2 When people who are willing to get off their rears to search the entire room for the T.V.. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3 When people say 'Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too'. Uh Yeah! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4 When people say 'it's always the last place you look'. Of course it is. Why in the world would you keep looking after you've found it? Uh DUH!

5 When people say while watching a film 'did you see that?'. No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the stupid floor.

6 When people who ask 'Can I ask you a question?'.... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8 When people say 'life is short'. What???? Life is the longest doggone thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks 'Has the bus come yet?'. If the bus came would I be standing here, moron?

Critters & Flowers

On our travels we saw some interesting critters and some beautiful flowers in the strangest places.

Let me share some of them with you!


At cousin Laura's house, Joelle found a bird's nest and took this photo.





She did great, climbed up and didn't touch a thing.









This little guy was running down the road at Mesa Verde.










































My sis took this photo of this little dude humming around at the Bar D.













This beautiful bunch grew up out of a rock near the edge of a cliff looking down into the Uncompagre valley.































This guy was sunning himself on a rock right next to the Devil's Kitchen in the Colorado National Park. He let me get very close and didn't even move. Cool.

Next to Last Weekday Here.

Thursday started with my nephew Brian getting 8 teeth pulled. Poor guy! He did great with it though. Rest up, got some 'yummy' things to eat.
















Then the kiddos got to work on another project. They got to make Christmas trees out of egg shells that got the egg blown out through little holes. They made very pretty ones.












Jim, my brother-in-law, and I replaced a bad U joint in my folks pickup. What a job that was!










Once we all got finished with our projects we drove up to Delta, CO and went swimming in an indoor pool. The kids had a BALL!










We finished off the day catching the kittens that were born under my folks shed. Three of them. They are SOOO very cute and the kids are just loveing them up bigtime!

Another good day in Colorado!

A Relaxin' Day at Home

Our relaxing day at home started with breakfast at Denny's. Yummy food!











Back at home we started a mouse making project - chocolate mice.
















Our little army is growing.













These guys are still missing their eyes - soon to be added.

Then we had a BIG birthday party to celebrate all our birthdays all together. We had an ice-cream cake from DQ. Slurp! :)










Then the kids all had a sleepover and crashed out on the living room floor. They watched a movie then out for the night. They actually went out! :)

Retirement

While we were on our camping trip, our camera, that we've had for years (on the L) started acting up.

I'd go to snap a photo and it would automatically change 'modes' on me and I'd miss the shot. Then we'd have to recreate it. Sometimes it'd work. Sometimes, not so well!

Anyway, it got to be so frustrating so regularly, we made a decision. When we got back into town we made a decision to retire our old Kodak Easy Share CX7630 and replace it with a new Nikon Coolpix S550.

The Kodak isn't going into complete retirement, it will become a camera for the girls to use and enjoy.

Cookin' & Climbin'

This day, we did some cookin' in the Devil's Kitchen, pictured here. It's part of the Colorado National Monument, near Grand Junction, CO.

















The kids found this neat rock formation and of course it was a perfect picture opportunity having them all in the crack of the rock.














It was a hot day, the warmest since we've been here and in the high desert - it was toasty. So we took a break in the shade of an overhanging rock.










Once we got inside the 'kitchen' up the hill there was an awesome cool breeze blowing through. Another good picure opportunity.













After a delicious picnic lunch. We headedover to KidzPlex, an indoor place for the kids to play - in the A/C. They had all sorts of climbing walls for everyone to play spiderman. Here Sarah makes it to the top of one of them.










Under the walls, was a 'cave' climbing area. Here's Natalie showing off her climbing prowess!

Joelle was a climbing fool! Up and down, up and down. "Daddy, belay me please." Here she made it to the top of a pretty tall one.
















Mom snapped this photo of Doreen and I 'belaying' Joelle and Natalie as they climbed a wall side by side.

Back home we had some more fun. We took a day and rented an ATV and along with my folks we went out with some friends of long ago, up into the mountains near their cabin and spend the day riding trails! Oh it was beautiful.









Here we are at the top looking out over a beautiful valley. From where we were you could see mountains in Arizona and Utah. Next to where we were standing, was a pile of rocks with containers and log books fror people to sign and add a rock. Very cool!







Along the trail was a relatively smooth, flat area and Doreen let Joelle drive.










Here's our group. Our friends with whome we used to go into the mountains so long ago. This day brought back memories from a great time!









At the end of the day we loaded up the machines to head home, but had to take one more picture of the kids sitting on all the bikes. Kinda cute. What a very cool day!
