Today

Today has been another day. Not good - not bad - just another day.

Thanks to my bro-in-law, I believe I've gotten the bugs cleaned off my computer. I hope. :)

Got a TON done at work today. I finally had an un-interrupted day, basically, and got quite a bit done for our sharathon on next Tuesday and Wednesday.

The kicker is next week our church is hosting a booth at the fair and so we had a training class tonight to make sure next Friday we're set to run the booth from 5 to 9. (BUSY WEEK) We're taking blood pressure, getting the 'guest's real health age and telling them about our Better Living Center.

Natalie was climing of one of our bar stools and missed a rung and flopped on the floor. Big cry session. Bump on the head. Doing better later.

Joelle had a good/bad day with dissobeying and bein' mean. Gotta work on that - GOTTA work on that!

I needed a nap this afternoon and was planning to snooze for a few minutes after I got home - but as I walked in the door, my cell rings. It turns out to be the host of a Live Sunday morning program in Washington DC we've been considering putting on the air. For some reason, the Program Director sent him to me the Production Director. My job is to make spots and programs. His job is to schedule and oversee programs. Hummmm - why did I get this call? So I listened, asked what I hoped were intelligent sounding questions, then told him to e-mail me the info and I guess I'll pass it along to the Program Director to make the plans to possibly put it on the air.

So then I hang up and play with the girls, talk with Doreen and plan to take a snooze and a Realtor comes by and want to know if we're interested in listing our place in the future. He takes off and the we gotta start supper early cuz of the meeting - so no snooze.

UNTIL... Doreen drives us to the meeting and I crash on the way there. WHAT a blessing!

Guess that's about my day.

C ya!

Round Trippin - Reboot FAILED

What a day. I get to work and get things going and about 11:30a my boss comes in and say's we're going to Chattanooga to see the layout of our new temporary building. So finish the production I was working on, run home change clothes and grab a quick bite, grab the van and head back to work to pick up the 6 others who were going with me. Well - 5 of the 6 others. The 6th walked out to the van 10 minutes after we all piled inside. That's pretty much the staus quo of this person - annoying - but oh well.

So we get down there, meet LTR's Prez there and so we start coming around the building like antz. We're taking measurements and looking at possibilities, looking at current rooms and which ones will be taken down and the upstairs and the fire-escape that isn't up to code. After we spent some good quality time checking it out, the manager of the buildings for SAU came down and we talked and found out some more good info. We then walked around outside to look at the future location of our satellite dishes and the 7 parking spaces we're allowed (They'll give us 5 more after the new lot a block up the road is completed) and hopped in the van and headed to the Village Market.

We grabbed a quick supper to eat on the go - stopped by our property and moved the stakes for where the driveway to building 1 of 3 that is scheduled to be built. (#1 Voice Studio/Landing Pad Apartment until homes are built. #2 our house, #3 Larry & Sandra's house)

We head home - and talk about the layout of the studios and equipment we need to make the move - man Digital Audio Boards is the WAY to go. Can't belive the advancement in technology! WOWWWW!!!Got to the office, had to run in, check e-mail, fix a technical problem with a spot or two on the air, had to go potty and then out the door to home.

At home my girls come out to meet me - VERY precious - and I get hugs. We walk in the house and bath-time, worship time, bed time. Then I pull out the computer - get ready to put a Home/Office Design program on it and Doreen tells me the computer is still running slow. Sure enough - on the task-manager shows some odd process is eating up 98% of the CPU. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! All the time I spent last night was WASTED!!!! @#$$%%^^&*())(*&^^%$%$#%^%$$#%^^$#!!!!!!Gotta get a Virus Scanning Software thingy to clean the ^%$$%^%$# bugs off my compter. So I end the process - and voila and it's fine - except for some websites where I can download some Ad-Aware Freeware to fix the problems. Oh well!I load the design software and do the layout thing for what we decided today - we'll see how everyone likes what it actually looks like.

Right now the Titans are beating the Cowboys 14, 13. Ahhhhh NFL. I feel better now! :)

See ya!

Reboot Kickin my Butt

It's been a pretty good day - overall.

Had to go to work (www.lifetalk.net) for about 3 hours this morning to audition 2 thirty minute programs to go on the air this afternoon. I planned to work at that for about an hour to get those done then do about 2 hours of editing so I can get ahead of myself for this week as we prepare for our sharathon next Tue & Wed.

Get to work and an engineer is there talking with our Chief Operating Officer about plans to move the campus of Southern Adventist University soon and a couple of 'problems' we're running into. So I got sucked into that, which took 15 minutes. Another 15 minutes went into the telling of how the storm we had last night knocked a pot out on the broadcast board and knocked out an audio card that had to be replaced to stay on the air. All I can say is I'm thankful I WASN'T on call. What a pain in the rear.

So I finally get to my desk and get to auditioning and editing the programs and the COO walks in and wants to talk more about the move. So we Talk and talk and talk - then we called the Prez of LTR and talked about it some more. So all this talk means a trip to SAU for most of us to check out the possible new/temporary location.

So FINALLY - I get the editing done and I'm outta time and gotta pack up and head home.

We have lunch and I'm just bushed from staying up so late watching "50 First Dates." Funny movie, a bit too much potty humor for my liking, but pretty good overall.

So the girls go out to play in the sprinkler and I take a nap. A nice LONG nap cuz I knew I was going to stay up late watching the Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics. (Which we're doing right now)

However, the last two hours I've been re-formatting our hard drive because we got BUGGED somehow and couldn't surf the web and applications took EONS to load up and sometimes wouldn't even work!

Seems to be fine now - of what I've done. I could actually get on my blog in under a minute! :)

Hope you had a good Sunday!

What a Sabbath Morning, Eye, aye, aye!

What a start to a Sabbath morning! Well, better tell ya the whole story. Yesterday I got home from work and my family was visiting next door at my in-laws, so I talked with Doreen on the phone for a moment and then laid down to take a nap. A MUCH needed nap.

I'm snoring (literally) along in peaceful oblivion and awoke suddenly with my littlest one screaming bloody-murder. So I hop up and run to where I hear the crying and see Doreen trying to wash her eye out. The story is that she was playing with some cleaner that Larry (my father-in-law) mixes in the water to wash his truck, and spritzed some in her left eye.

After the water flush, she calmed down and was good the rest of the evening with only a bloodshot eye.

At bathtime - Joelle poured some water over Natalies head and some got in her eye and the screaming bloody-murder started all over again. A few minutes later, screaming over and all is well.

Worship, bedtime for the girls - I've been trying to clean a bug off our computer and haven't cleaned it yet, but should get that soon - then bedtime for us.

At 12:30am more screaming. Doreen got up to change Natalie's diaper and the eye was read and she was rubbing it - so that woke me up from a dead sleep - AGAIN and so we double-teamed her and flushed the eye with some re-wetting drops and with-in moments she was out again. Fast forward to 5am - more screaming - Doreen soothed her again for a moment or two and then out like a lite.

About 6:15a Doreen walks back into our room and I automatically wake up and ask "What's up?" Turns up she couldn't get back to sleep for worrying about Natalies eye. So we call our Pediatric Dr's office and get the answering service - I leave a message and 10 minutes later they call back and I told the Nurse the whole story and she said Natalie ought to be looked at, we set an 8am appointment. So Doreen showers, and get's the girls breakfast started and I take a quickie shower, get dressed swap Natalie's car seat to the truck and hop in with my little one and we head to the Pediatician office.

We get there, spend some time waiting then get back to the office, Natalie's temp is normal, weight 25 lbs and then back to the exam room.

15 minutes later Dr Bean walks in. I thought about making a crack or two about the British Comedian Bean, but since my daughter's eye is on the line, bite my lip. He looks her over and all looks ok - he runs a flouresant test and hold a black light up to her face and all around her eyeball is glowing, but nothing on the cornea - that's good! :)

So all is well, we jump in the truck and head down to church, stop at the grocery store to get some grapes, bagle chips and some juice, cuz we both didn't eat what we normally do cuz of the rush and head to church.

We get there about halfway through Sabbath School, Natalie joins the kids for a story, I find a comfortable chair and snooze for about 15 minutes - ahhhh blisss.

We head in for church and get to special music - just before the sermon and Joelle starts fussing, so I take her back to the 'mother's' room and lay her down. I listen to the sermon while playing Tetris on my phone while Joelle falls asleep.

After church is a good potluck, good conversation and then we head home.

Natalie and Doreen's asleep, Joelle's watching something called "Joshua and the Promised Land." I needed to do a couple of things on the comptuer - so I thought I'd leave a blog for today!

Hope y'all have a VERY good weekend!

NO! Not THOSE Yet! Please?

Hey y'all,

What's up for today? Looking forward to the weekend? I know that I am. Gotta catch up on sleep. I know Scott will give me a hard time for this, but for the past two weeks I've been staying up way later than I should be watching the Olympics - go Team USA - and only getting 4, 4 1/2 hours of sleep every night. Ouch. It's wearin' me out. Glad Sunday nite is the close of the games. Then I'll have to have another excuse for staying up late. Better start thinking of one now. LOL!
I love my girls, but I love my time after they go to sleep - don't have to keep them out of stuff, fighting each other, always wanting attention of some sort or another. So I end up staying up late just cuz.

Well - we went to get haircuts yesterday. (Cheryl, you'd have some business if we lived closer! *GRIN*) Joelle did GREAT. She sat perfectly still for the whole time, except for a couple of wiggles that she just couldn't hold in any longer. The really cute thing was after Joelle got out of the seat, Natalie had to run over and want in. She's still not ready for a haircut - probably the next time she'll be ready for a trim. But the stylist 'humored' her. She put Natalie in the seat, sprayed her hair and combed it around a bit and fussed over it. And Natalie had this look on her face like she's a superbig girl! Very precious.

After we got home, we had to wash our hair to get all those little irritating bits of itchy hairs out. I did Joelle & myself and Doreen jumped in the shower. I headed into the kitchen and Doreen gets out and I hear them talking, then Joelle comes running into the kitchen and announces, "When my boobies get bigger I can wear a bra." I STAND SHOCKED. My little girl, 3 1/2, is already growing up SOOOOOO VERY FAST. My mind shouts, "NO! NOT THOSE YET!! PLEASE??" I mean she's still working on having several dry pull-ups in a row at night so she can wear big-girl panties to bed - a bra??! Oh my goodness. So I get down on her level and give her a big hug and say, "Yes sweetie, you're right." Thankfully, it's just not yet!

After supper we headed to the park, and as is our practice, Doreen watches the girls first and I go around the 1 mile loop around the lake, twice. I was able to do it in under 25 minutes.
My first time when we started excercising was over 35 - so I'm cutting off time. Doreen and I took a health class in college and one of the final exams was we had to do a mile in under 9 minutes. I'm shooting for that - I'm getting there. After I did my laps, I played with the girls on the climbing things and slides while Doreen did her walk. A good way to exercise until the girls get older and can be on their own.

For the longest time - I walked/ran with my CD player cuttin' in and out if I wasn't smooth enough. That was drivin' me nuts, so I finally broke down and bought a Nike/Phillips MP3 player to exercise with. Last night was the first time we went since I got it - no skips, had freed hands to swing as I walked/ran (It has a strap to attach to my arm) and I LOVED it! Aint' technology great??!!

Quick Post Script on a previous post: The c0-worker who threw a hissy fit apologized yesterday. I did send her an e-mail detailing the fact if she has a problem - to talk with the boss NOT ME. She agreed and will try to do that from now on. I'm still annoyed and it'll just take a couple of weeks for me to feel normal around her again without me being worried about getting reamed out.

Well - that is all for now. Oh yeah - GOLD for the USA women's soccer team. THEY ROCK!

Moody Co-worker ruins the workday

Hey - how are ya? I'm glad we're into a new day! Yesterday was ok, other than beeing sleepy ALL DAY LONG because for the last two weeks I've been staying up to midnight watching the Olympics and getting up at 4am to get my day started to get to work at 5am, it was fine. I was getting lots of audio editing done at work and making. Then I have a co-worker come in and just lay into me. Then she has the gall to say it was my fault for yelling at her. Sheeesh!

The backstory -- here a LifeTalk Radio a year and a half ago, they had to downsize and laid off 3 people. That's fine - more work for me, but oh well - better to have more work in a job than no job (also read as paycheck LOL) at all. So we're doing fine then a co-worker's spouse gets a new job in Chattanooga (1 hour south of us here in Vonore, TN) so they move and the co-worker #1 wants to keep working, but only two days a week and commute. Fine. To fill in the other days we hire Co-worker #2 - who does a decent job but two weeks ago turned in a resigination. My boss convinces co-worker #2 to stay on a little longer - and co-worker #2 reluctantly agrees. So I was at church Sabbath talking with someone there and found out this person is looking for a part-time job, so I suggest this 'prospect' call me at work on Monday. The prospect calls and we talk together and with my boss and he decides to offer the prospect (now known as co-worker #3) a job, and it is accepted.

We call co-worker #1 and this person has a few questions and so we talk to supervisor and co-worker #2 and find answers and clear ALL up.

Fast forward to yesterday, co-worker #1 comes in and doesn't even say hi, but starts berating me about making changes so close to a major event we're having on the air. So I challenge the thoughts put before me (hindsight: listen and say interesting and then IGNORE co-worker, darn-it why didn't I do that??!!!) and offer various rebuttals and that intensifies co-workers response till we're pretty much hollering at each other until co-worker finally begins to 'tear up' then walks off to talk with the boss. (Don't know the outcome there - not my fault, not my problem!) Basically the co-worker was making accusations that the changes were my fault and I didn't take into consideration anything with co-worker's needs or wants. BS - We all need the consistant help and co-worker #2 DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE. So we found co-worker #3 who WANTS to be here and who is competent and CAN do the job.

So now I'm considering writing an e-mail telling co-worker to take any complaints to the boss, completely leave me OUT OF IT (this is about the 3rd time that co-worker has pulled this type of crap, coming in and throwing a fit at me - besides I DON'T HAVE ANY POWER TO MAKE CHANGES OR DECISIONS - I just made a suggestions and the BOSS ran with it, NOT ME) and to take a chill pill.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!!
